What is ‘De Delftse Methode’?

 

People from various countries and cultures, with different educational backgrounds, are keen to quickly learn how to speak Dutch well. Most Singaporeans prefer to learn Dutch while guided by a professional and experienced native Dutch Language Teacher.

The central notion underlying The Delftse Methode is the idea that second language learning does not need to be very difficult; it just involves a lot of work. The Dutch for Foreigners ('green book') is the best-known component of the Delftse methode.  We are using these teaching aids, which are developed in the early eighties by lecturers at Delft University of Technology. It turned out to be extremely successful. The textbook was recently completely revised for the third time and various parts were added for non-native speakers with different educational backgrounds.
