Total duration Beginners Course:
there are two options (you dont need to make your choice immediately; you can first sign up for 24 hours of lessons (option 1), and decide later what you would like to do next)
(1) 24 hours for NT2* level A1 (Basic Dutch Course: 3 months in total). > (* NT2 = Dutch as Second Language) (2) 48 hours for NT2* level A1 + A2 (Full Dutch Beginners Course: 6 months in total).
You can opt for taking the Basic Dutch Course only (just 24 hours), or combine this basic course with the next NT2 level: (A1 + A2: a total of 48 hours). That is our Full Dutch Beginners Course.
Targeted achievements:
> If you complete NT2 level A1, you will have mastered 1,200 most commonly used Dutch words; you will be able to read most Dutch texts and you can form your very own (simple) Dutch sentences.
> If you complete NT2 level A2, you will have mastered 2,500 most commonly used Dutch words, you will be able to read all kinds of Dutch texts and you will be able to converse in Dutch with regard to basic, common topics.
> If you aim to further boost your conversational skills to much higher levels, you can extend your Beginners Course with a third round of 12 classes (intensified conversation & vocabulary training). You will reach NT2 level B1, which is intermediate stage. This would be an excellent choice for those, who need to prepare themselves for Inburgering (the mandatory integration procedure for immigrants) or for Naturalisation (Dutch citizenship).
Please be advised that you will need to study and practise at least 4 hours per week (additional self-study) in order to reach these targets. This means that the (minimum) total number of study-hours is:
24 hrs (classes) + 48 hrs (self-study) = 72 hrs for proficiency level A1 48 hrs (classes) + 96 hrs (self-study) = 144 hrs for proficiency level A2
Enhancement options after reaching NT2 level A2: NT2 level B1 (Threshold Language Proficiency Level* ) & B2 (Vantage Language Proficiency Level*)
* according to the proficiency levels, set by the Council of Europe (link to Wikipedia, with a description of all CEFR levels)
(1) Level A1: Breakthrough Proficiency Level
This is the basic language course of choice for total Beginners, but it is also a very good preparation for MVV (Dutch visa) applicants (Basic Civic Integration Exam Abroad). Important: if you aim to apply for an MVV in time to come, please keep in mind that although you will reach the required language proficiency level NT2-A1 you will still need to take a couple of additional hands-on MVV training sessions with us, in order to practise with 32 real-time trial exams, since you need to get familiar with the way you will be tested. If you have reached NT2 level A1 by taking our Beginners Course first, you just need about 7 training sessions in order to be fully prepared for your MVV exam. It all depends on your achieved proficiency whether you will need more or less MVV training sessions. 7 sessions is a realistic average, but of course we will further advise you, based on your current language skills.
If you would indeed combine our Beginners Course (12 lessons) with the additional 7 MVV training sessions, you will maximise your confidence during the MVV exam, since you will fully understand the way Dutch sentences are built. You will quickly master about 1,200 most commonly used Dutch words during the first part of our Beginners Course anyway. This will help you to understand all possible questions and to build Dutch sentences with ease. The first part of our Beginners Course (NT2 level A1) takes 3 months to complete, but you can also decide to continue with the second part (another 3 months) and thus complete our FULL Beginners Course (NT2 level A2).
For those students, who do not have the luxury of time (because they need to move to The Netherlands soonest possible), our (separate) MVV Training Course would be a better choice, since this is a private speed-course (10 intensive lessons).
For more information about our MVV course, please click here.
excellent choice for EXCHANGE STUDENTS AND HOLIDAY TRAVELERS:
Our NT2-A1 course is also very useful for those, who are planning to travel to Holland any time soon, e.g. exchange students and holiday travelers, since it will provide you with the basics of the Dutch language, and you will also be able to form your very own Dutch sentences. That is of course very useful. For students and holiday travelers among our course participants, we will provide one special (additional) lesson to practise survival phrases. This is a free, additional service for those who sign up for our basic course, and is therefore not part of our NT2-A1 course.
or
(2) Level A1 + A2: Breakthrough + Waystage Proficiency Level
This full Beginners Course comprises of NT2 level A1 + A2, thus both levels. First we start with the basic Dutch course (A1 = 12 classes of 2 hours each, so 24 hours in total) followed by the next sequence of 12 classes (A2), so a total of 24 classes = 48 hours. Please note that this next sequence is optional, not mandatory, e.g. MVV applicants would only need to focus on the first sequence, since they only need to reach NT2 level A1. For holiday travelers, level A1 would also be sufficient.
The total course duration of both sequences is 48 hours: 6 months in order to complete our full Beginners Course (NT2-level A2).

Proficiency Tests & NT2 Certificates of Acknowledgement:
NT2 stands for: Dutch as Second Language (= Nederlands als Tweede Taal)
We can provide you with a NT2 Certificate of Acknowledgement. With such certificate, we acknowledge that you have reached NT2 proficiency level A1 or A2.
Target of our (full) Beginners Course: if you complete the full course (A1, plus A2 module A / module B, each with a duration of 3 months), you will have reached language proficiency level NT2 A2, in compliance with the strict requirements of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR), set by the Council of Europe. NT2 level A2 is the official Dutch language proficiency level (acknowledged by the Dutch government) for Naturalisation / Integration, exactly the same like the Inburgeringscursus at the regional education centers (ROC) and universities in The Netherlands).
Rates: S$65/- per group lesson of 2 hours, (total amount is 12 x S$65/- = S$780), plus a one-time payment of S$140/- for all teaching aids, which makes a grand total of S$920/-.
Please note that you are free to stop after the first part of the Beginners Course (NT2 for Beginners, level A1 = 12 lessons), or to continue with the second part of the Beginners Course (A2) which comprises of module A and B. If you continue, there will be no additional charges for teaching aids, since we will continue with the second half of the textbook.
Venue: Kingsfield Education Centre is located at 150 Orchard Road #08-07, Orchard Plaza (opp. Orchard Central, next to Somerset MRT)
Requirements for registration: an advance payment of S$200/- (which is the first part of the total course fees of S$920/-) is required.
(B) - Dutch Crash Courses: these are private (one-to-one) sessions for those who are in a hurry. Course duration: 12 intensive sessions of 2 hours each (usually on one fixed day per week, so that would be a duration of 3 months in total, but it is also possible to have sessions on more days per week). Rates: S$1,440/- for the complete private crash course of 24 hours. (If you like to practise a bit more, you can always sign up for some additional private lessons (at S$120/- per lesson of 2 hours), so your Crash Course is always extendible, if you wish. Venue for private lessons: exclusively at our Audiovisual Language Training Studio at Serangoon Green, Jalan Teck Kee, since all computer aided audio-visual test facilities, individual training laptop computers, projector, automated projection screen, Dutch library, hard-disks etcetera for private & group training sessions have been installed there.
(C) - MVV Training Sessions: (for Long Term Visa Application). If you need to sit for your Basic Civic Integration Exam Abroad at the Dutch Embassy in Singapore, this is the basic course you need to prepare yourself, and for most of our students, 10 lessons are sufficient in order to pass. These are either group training sessions (depending on the actual number of MVV applicants in Singapore) or private lessons in order to learn basic Dutch, practising how to build Dutch sentences (very crucial) and answering a range of Basic Civic Integration Exam Abroad questions. Course duration: 10 lessons of 2 hours each. Target: (MVV-) visa for long-term access to The Netherlands. Rates: S$1,200/- for the basic course of 20 hours. Venue for all MVV Training Sessions: exclusively at our Audiovisual Language Training Studio at Serangoon Green, Jalan Teck Kee, since all computer aided audio-visual test facilities, individual training laptop computers, projector, automated projection screen, Dutch library, hard-disks etcetera for private & group training sessions have been installed there.
(D) - Naturalisation Courses: in order to successfully apply for Naturalisation, (= obtaining Dutch Citizenship) you will need to pass the Dutch NT2 State Exam I or II in case you would like to be exempted from taking the Inburgering-examen (= major integration exam) in The Netherlands. We always recommend our students to consider this option, since most of them are aiming to apply for a good job in The Netherlands, and for that purpose, passing the Inburgering-examen only (which is at NT2 level A2) is far from sufficient to convince employers that you are able to understand and speak proper Dutch. Exam I (NT2 level B1) is the minimum requirement for Naturalisation. NT2 State Exams are comprising of a full proficiency test regarding listening, reading, writing, speaking. Exam II (NT2 level B2) is more difficult, meant for those who are planning to either study at any Dutch university / Institute for Higher Education (HBO) or apply for a (well-paid) higher management job in The Netherlands. Just like Exam I, Exam II can be used for Naturalisation too, and we can help you all the way to prepare yourself in full for either NT2 State Exam I or NT2 State Exam II.
During private (one-to-one) sessions in Singapore, we will intensively focus on mastering all 4 elements: reading, listening, writing and speaking. Once you have reached a good total proficiency level, we will give you the go-ahead to sit for your NT2 State Exam in The Netherlands (the Dutch government doesnt allow NT2 exams to be taken outside The Netherlands, simply to eliminate possible fraud, so you will have to travel to The Netherlands to sit for your exam. But you can fully prepare yourself with us, which means that you can use your time efficiently in Singapore. We are using exactly the same teaching aids and teaching methods like to the professional NT2 training institutions in The Netherlands.
Rates: S$120/- per private lesson (2 hours). NB: an advance payment per sequence of 12 lessons (S$1,440/-) is required. Venue for private lessons: at the teachers private address at Serangoon Green, Jalan Teck Kee, or at your own residence. (In the latter case, applicable travel expenses will be added, based on distance, ERP & parking cost plus travel time).
*NB: Please note that it is NOT possible to receive a Dutch passport based on passing the MVV exam at the Dutch Embassy. A successful MVV exam provides a visa for temporary stay only (the so called Provisional Residence Permit. provided you comply with the strict rules of the Dutch Immigration authorities (IND: Immigration & Naturalisation Department) in The Netherlands).
(E) - Private lessons: these are individual, custom-made lessons of 2 hours each, specifically catering to your personal needs. We work with a large range of professional NT-2 teaching aids, developed in The Netherlands, specifically catering to your personal target. All of our teaching aids comply with the requirements of the CEFR (Council of Europe).
